Commercial Interiors
Pinewood Elementary School
I was challenged to design an elementary for Commercial Interiors II. Taking the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design requirements into account, I carefully implemented Wayfinding, space planning and created an intricate RCP. I
modeled the floor plan in Revit, rendered the floor plan and reflected ceiling plans with the chosen finishes in PhotoShop, and created the 3D perspectives in Enscape.

Environmental Design /
1. Access Control- Locks are on all of the entrance doors, strategically placed reception desks in the main lobby and in the offices to provide physical guidance. Change in carpet to allow for visual
understanding of circulation.
2. Natural (Informal) Surveillance- Reception desks placed for visual line of sight of entryways. Security office has
visual access to entrance and outdoors. Proper lighting is included throughout public spaces.
3. Territoriality- clear delineation of spaces, with exterior security signs, interior classroom and room
signage, and school logo
throughout.
4. Defensible Space-
Emergency buttons in classrooms and portable fobs worn by teachers are utilized to activate a lock down in the event of an emergency. All of the glass in the space is
bullet-proof and the classroom
windows are able to be used as emergency escape exits.

5. Formal Organized Surveillance-
A school security team is stationed in the security office. Also, hall monitors and security cameras are implemented throughout the entire school.
